To put it bluntly, Seasons After Fall is “pleasant.” A world with a great feeling experience that tends to knock you out of it when moving around. As much as I appreciate a game as relaxed as this, that relaxation never quite became true enjoyment.

Late Shift is interesting enough on its first go around, but without reward in its narrative or punishment in its gameplay, there’s not enough reason to go back.

But for those who just want to see what that cute girl with horns is doing like I did, Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight is a brief, but highly enjoyable time. It can be over before it overstays its welcome and cracks start to show, but even then those flaws aren’t enough to belittle the experience.

It’s also kinda funny that what seemed like a lot to take in sort of feels like second nature at this point. Frustrations eventually giving way toward a playful spite, I was running through the game again and again before I knew it. It’s going to be a long time before I get everything I want out of Loot Rascals, and I’m perfectly fine with that. With Loot Rascals, I feel like I can loot forever. Whether that’s actually true has yet to be proven, but I’m going to have lots of fun figuring it out.

There’s an audience out there who is really going to appreciate what Ride 2 offers. While it’s not the fanciest, I can’t think of another motorcycle racer giving me as much control over my own experience as this. But the fact of the matter is Ride 2 wants a lot of time from you, and scarcely offers tangible rewards for the effort.
