Marvel's Wolverine shows that Insomniac Games is the best at what they do and what they do best is make incredible superhero games.
Following Sophia before the main Plague Tale games is enjoyable, and getting to see her journey is a real treat. The combat keeps the intensity up and makes perfect sense for her character. Even if gamers haven’t played any of the Plague Tale titles, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is a good place to start.
The turn-based tactic genre is a tough sell for some gamers, but don’t let that dissuade you. Star Wars: Zero Company is an incredible Star Wars experience. The exploration, along with some of the grittier aspects of the Clone Wars, is enjoyable. The moments that happen, which we won’t spoil, are incredible.
The foundation for a thriving competitive scene is already there, and with enough long-term support, the audience should follow. There’s also plenty to enjoy for casual players who simply love Marvel. Each character’s personality comes through in their design and performance, making the roster feel like a celebration of the comics.
Fortunately, the uneven story never extends to its central characters. Emma and Koo are an immediately compelling pair, and their bond gives the adventure an emotional core beyond its combat. Their relationship prevents Beast of Reincarnation from feeling like a purely mechanical action game and turns it into a more heartfelt experience.
While Avatar Legends will attract a smaller audience, they’ll be ecstatic about this incredible fighting game. It harnesses a key component from both shows that translates extraordinarily well into the fighting scene. The aspect of how these characters move, not just in their combos, but in the animation, shows the great respect these creators have.
