It's hard to talk about new entries in the monster tamer genre without bringing up Pokemon as a comparison, but Coromon -- even with a few notable faults -- feels like a significantly updated version of those GBA-era games thanks to some unique features that modernize it enough so that it doesn't lean too hard on its inspirations.

While the gameplay felt familiar, Tiny Tina and the rest of the main cast carry this one on their backs through witty, fun dialogue that stayed consistently entertaining throughout the campaign. The banter, fantasy setting, and TTRPG concept really created so much more enjoyment than I expected to find here.

Longtime fans will be satisfied with this entry after the five-year wait since the last mainline game even though Tales of Arise doesn't feel like it strays too far away from the standard series formula.

NEO: The World Ends With You is a game that gets carried by its intriguing world, creative lore, lovable characters, and of course, its amazing soundtrack. These aspects of the game will keep you wanting more as you trudge through the tiresome day-to-day activities that get thrown at you.

The combat in Scarlet Nexus is no doubt the star of the show. Even when it becomes hard to take the narrative seriously, those sweet, sweet combat mechanics will pull you right back in, no matter which protagonist you choose.

Taking off the rose-colored glasses of nostalgia can lead to facing some hard truths. With Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning, we have an initially underrated game that feels outdated by today's standards.
