Remember Me

The combat is the real diamond in the rough and makes the journey into Neo-Paris completely worthwhile. There are plenty of mistakes, but also a few triumphs. It's hard to recommend rushing out to get this one, as it feels more like a downloadable title due to its short playtime, but I would also be remiss to suggest avoiding it completely. Ultimately, it's an excellent first attempt by DONTNOD Entertainment - and should encourage more than a few gamers to look forward to their next offering.

The Cave

The Cave

The Cave embodies a lot of what we love about classic adventure games. It combine's Double Fine's whimsical oddness and Ron Gilbert's talent into a game that is fun to play, but fails to live up to the full potential of the people behind it. It is exceptionally easy and too often coddles players who might be looking for a bit more of a challenge. Navigation can be a pain, but a minor one, and the other gameplay mechanics more than make up for clumsy controls. Those looking for another hilarious classic in the making might be underwhelmed, but anyone who wants an enjoyable, creative experience with a lot of replay capability, then look no further. The Cave may not bust any guts, but it won't break any banks either.

DmC: Devil May Cry
9

There is a lot offered in DmC: Devil May Cry. From multi-dimensional characters, a deeper storyline, a revamped and refined battle system, and beautiful art direction; this is, without a shadow of a doubt, the best Devil May Cry to date. Skeptics should abandon their prejudices and give this one a shot. Everyone else should buckle in for one hell of a ride.

Dragon's Dogma has many flaws - and, in general, comes across as unpolished and unfinished. Some RPGs find themselves choosing between gameplay and story. The key to a successful RPG is finding a balance, but Dragon's Dogma chose to focus on an, admittedly excellent, combat system, leaving a story that is laborious to follow and uninspiring. Quests are a drag, characters are lifeless and the game is unforgiving for the patience a player will put into it. The combat carries a lot of weight and is the saving grace for the title, making it playable for that feature alone. If your playlist is getting bare and you're looking for a game to fill that void, or just wanting to get early access to Resident Evil 6, Dragon's Dogma might be a slightly amusing way to waste some time - otherwise it might be best to let sleeping Dogma's lie.

Overall, ORC provides an extremely lackluster experience. With so much in the Resident Evil series to draw inspiration from, it's a wonder why it felt like the developers were scrambling for creativity. Any attempt to bring the series in a unique direction was squandered with atrocious AI, uninspired locations and its complete lack of memorable characters or any real story. Operation Raccoon City is a shooter that completely misses its mark and hits the player squarely in the head in an attempt to make them brain dead enough to not notice its many flaws.

Street Fighter X Tekken combines two beloved fighting franchises into one beautiful package. Boasting an impressive roster and containing all of the richness, style and humor of both series, combined with its unique accessibility to all types of players, this smart fighter breaks new ground for the future of its genre.
