Since its announcement last summer, Dawntrail promised a change of pace from the massive, decade-long story of Final Fantasy 14. It was advertised as a summer vacation release, right at the start of the real-life season for most of the world—a perfect way to get away, explore new lands, and have some fun.
It’s bittersweet and difficult to come to the end of a tale, especially if you’ve been following it for over a decade. Doing so must have been especially for the team behind Final Fantasy 14, which ends the current core story arc in Endwalker, its latest expansion, released officially on December 7 (and with early access on the 3rd).
Life is Strange’s premise as a franchise is simple: a drama reflecting the real world, with the caveat of a protagonist having some type of “superpowers.” Perhaps it’s a “curse,” if you choose to describe it through the lips of Alex Chen, the protagonist of True Colors. In this case, Alex can sense emotions; stronger emotions appear as aura, and there are other little nuances that you unlock through gameplay.
