Fans of Compile Heart/Idea Factory will find a darker take on the old formula. Death end re;Quest has its best moments when it tells its gripping mystery story during the visual novel segments. The grim tone is undermined by anime tropes and fan service, though. Pacing problems and mediocre JRPG elements drag down the narrative, but at least the billiard-esque combat system is fun.
As always, there can’t be given any clear recommendation whether you should buy yet another NHL game or not. If you already own NHL 17 and are more of a casual solo-player, then the new features will not give you enough reason, so it comes down to the well-known question if the updated teams are worth the money for you or not. Objectively, Tekken 7 is most likely not the best fighting game out there currently. Netherrealm Studios are doing a too good job for that with Mortal Kombat X and Injustice 2. However, given that in my childhood the Tekken series was omnipresent, it is my personal King of the Iron Fist.
