Tormented Souls is a very clumsy and corny survival horror game that plays like a love letter to genre giants.
Chernobylite is nearly impossible to put in a specific genre and it feels generally unpolished, but the sheer amount of fun and excitement that it provides makes the game more than worth playing.
One thing to keep in mind if playing Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 on the Switch is that the Joy Con controllers aren't well suited to the precision that this game requires. Landing a trick from in the air requires that the skater is facing the right direction or they will wipe out and lose all the points that were racked up for that trick. The Joy Con's controls tend to stick and don't always respond very well to precise actions. This can be fixed by either learning to use the controller's D-pad or docking the system and investing in the Switch Pro controller to have more control over characters in the game. While this is more of a fault of the hardware rather than the game, it is going to make scoring that 10 milllion point combo pretty difficult with this version.
There are a few parts of Game Builder Garage that require some polish, however. The largest issue is that there is no way to search for games created by other players. Half the fun of the similar Dreams is exploring the player created projects that others have spent time designing. With Game Builder Garage, the only option to play someone else's game is to share it with them locally or have the specific code for their creation. What may turn a lot of people away from Game Builder Garage is that it is very limited in both complexity and customization options. This means that those who have already spent some time with the aforementioned Dreams or have dabbled in programming before will quickly outpace what Game Builder Garage can offer.
Rust Console Edition manages to capture the same brutally difficult experience from the PC version, but a poor control scheme and outdated mechanics make the overall game frustrating for fans.
Before We Leave is a non-violent 4X strategy game that is perfect for newcomers, but its lack of challenge and overly simplified mechanics will leave genre veterans bored.
Rain On Your Parade is a clever little puzzle game that references and spoofs dozens of popular video games.
The survival elements of Breathedge are pretty standard fare for the genre, but its hard to enjoy the experience due to dated humor and its insistence on abandoning its best elements halfway through.
Curse of The Dead Gods is an extremely addicting roguelike that features deeply rewarding and exciting combat mechanics.
Gods Will Fall is a good-looking and atmospheric roguelike, but its weak controls and repetitive nature make it hard to replay.
