Rain on Your Parade Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
Rain on Your Parade has made me feel emotions for a cloud that I have not felt... well, ever! With a charming aesthetic, entertaining pop culture humor, and a wacky premise, you should play this game if you want to spend a weekend ruining a bunch of people's lives with water.
There’s an ever growing genre in the industry that I like to call “douchebag simulators”. They aren’t meant to be deep experiences or anything created to test your skills as a player. It wants you to troll others and make their lives miserable, whether by giving you objectives or not. Games like Goat Simulator and Untitled Goose Game are great examples, even though I don’t actually think either of them are particularly great games in any sense of the word. The same cannot be said by...
Rain on Your Parade is a casual puzzler that's a whole lot of fun. The simplicity of the gameplay allows for experimentation throughout with unique levels every step of the way. The game has charm (despite Cloudy being a bit murderous at times), and the minor issues are easily overlooked due to the fun nature of Rain on Your Parade.
Drink deep of the chaos a simple rain cloud can impart on the world – beneath your cute exterior lies the heart of evil. Todays forecast? A downpour of fun.
Rain on Your Parade more or less delivers on what it promises. It’s a clever and charming game that’s bound to put a big, dumb smile on your face each time you ruin some unsuspecting person’s day.
Rain On Your Parade is a clever little puzzle game that references and spoofs dozens of popular video games.
Rain on Your Parade is a simple, funny little game. Its levels aren’t challenging, but many of them are clever and humorous. It’s especially worth picking up if you have kids that just like to wreak havoc in virtual worlds. But regardless of your age, there’s plenty of joy to be had in hitting people with thunder and turning them into big snowballs. What’s not to like about that?
As an adult, the silliness and humour had me smiling throughout, but if you’ve got kids, while they may not fully understand some of the references here, they will have an absolute blast going from level to level. Be it ruining someones special day, persecuting a weatherman, setting fire to a birthday party or raising an army of the undead, there’s a lot of fun to be had here. I would say it’s not particularly challenging, but the devs provide a new game+ mode, with additional objectives for those who want more of a challenge.
There’s something just a tiny bit cynical about the “please like me!!” cutesiness of Rain On Your Parade, but despite our best efforts we ended up doing so. Just. It coasts on “what will they do next?” novelty rather than any kind of meaty, significant gameplay, but sometimes that’s okay. It’s something new, which is appealing, and the toybox feel of the proceedings lends itself to a broad appeal – we can see young kids and people who vibe with its twee presentation getting a kick out of it. If you've had your fill of 'cutesy', though, you might find yourself hoping for a break in the clouds.
Rain on Your Parade is a slapstick comedy game developed by Unbound Creations where you play as a mischievous cloud determined to ruin everybody’s day. It showcases a wide range of levels while unlocking new abilities and mechanics that get progressively more ridiculous. You’ll travel across the world, inventing new ways of causing chaos and mayhem. Turn a perfectly dry and sunny wedding day into a wet one, unleash thunder and lightning upon the cities, bring pandemonium to supermarket sh...
