Maybe not an open-world game changer, but Rise of the Ronin is a fun blend of accessible action and ancient history
When it comes to punishingly difficult but satisfying action combat, few do it as well as the Dark Souls series – and open world spiritual successor Elden Ring has raised the bar even higher. 2017’s Nioh came pretty darn close, and its follow-up Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty smartly builds on those foundations.
When Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was first revealed back in March of this year, a tidal wave of excitement spread across the globe amongst Nintendo fans.

As the author of Neuromancer and coiner of the term ‘cyberspace’, he helped create cyberpunk, that high-tech/low-life species of sci-fi that encompasses everything from Blade Runner to The Matrix, and as the co-author of The Difference Engine he created steampunk, the kind of sci-fi in which robots and spaceships run on clockwork and steam, and everyone wears a hat.
Assassin’s Creed Revelations sees a battle-worn Ezio Auditore follow in the footsteps of legendary assassin Altair, in a journey which leads him to the bustling continental melting pot of Constantinople. The gripping storyline from the previous installments artfully unravels as you progress through the missions, although newcomers to the serious may tend to get a bit lost without any background knowledge.
