Assassin's Creed Revelations Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
Assassin’s Creed Revelations sees a battle-worn Ezio Auditore follow in the footsteps of legendary assassin Altair, in a journey which leads him to the bustling continental melting pot of Constantinople. The gripping storyline from the previous installments artfully unravels as you progress through the missions, although newcomers to the serious may tend to get a bit lost without any background knowledge.
While the engine and the formula are starting to show their age, the excellent story and mission structure of Assassin's Creed: Revelations make it a force to be reckoned with, and the best game in the series so far, better even than the awesome Assassin's Creed II.
Ubisoft brings Assassin's Creed to mobile once again with new functionality, great sound and music, and fantastically cute animations/art that is immediately addictive and fun. Collect characters from all the other AC titles that will work together to once again thwart the efforts of the tyrannical Templars.
That said, Revelations serves its lead characters well and is a very effective bookend. The improvements in graphics and storytelling, combined with already-great voice acting and music, help make this a memorable finale for some of the most interesting video game characters we've seen in this generation. Not even the weak new Den Defense mechanic or Desmond’s insane side mission system can change that fact. And multiplayer will certainly reward those looking for a break from first-person shooting. The gameplay there continues to improve on an already-addicting formula, and learning more about...
The gorgeous city of Constantinople takes center stage in Assassin's Creed: Revelations, another great historical adventure.
Considering its subtitle, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is disappointingly light in this regard. While Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood managed to shatter our pre-conceptions last year, Revelations is the third series title in as many years, and it's starting to show. The mechanics that once felt new and interesting are lessened by virtue of their repetition, and the new ideas Ubisoft has introduced to keep things feeling fresh don't quite hit the mark.

Where Brotherhood enhanced the thrill of being Ezio Auditore, Revelations distracts from it. Ezio may look old, but it's the series itself that really shows its age.
Ezio's story comes to a disappointing conclusion in the weakest Assassin's Creed since the original.
We really have been spoilt this year. With the release of Revelations, Ubisoft have finally turned their initial concept into a truly unmissable game. Pulling the narrative together alongside some vital gameplay additions, this is the best, most complete Assassin’s Creed title to date. In the space of four years, the series has turned it’s infantile expectation into a showing of maturity and extreme class. It seems the developers have grown up alongside their assassins, nurturing the seri...
It looks like old Ezio's been through quite a lot since the end of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. After all, he has a grey beard now, which as everyone knows is the universal indicator of old age. But while the master assassin finds himself on new stomping grounds in Constantinople, Desmond Miles is washed up on a beach following the shocking cliffhanger at the end of the last game, stranded in limbo on Animus Island (seriously). One of these stories is relatively interesting and absorbing. T...
