We’ve had a number of Mario Kart clones over the past few years, and even a Smash Bros clone here or there, but Mario Party clones have been few and far between, until now. Meet LEGO Party, a bundle of mini-games looking to compete, if not best, Nintendo’s juggernaut.

Hotel Barcelona is the latest from cult favourites SUDA51 (No More Heroes) and SWERY (Deadly Premonition), and is as weird as those who recognise those developers’ names will expect it to be. A 2.5D sidescrolling roguelite, White Owls’ latest title will surely appeal to those who lap up surreal experience, though those who want a proper roguelite experience may find this one lacking.

I sat down to write this review with the realisation that I’ve been reviewing EA Sports’ NHL franchise for 15 years now. Re-reading some of my reviews, I couldn’t help but laugh at the general advice I always seem to give: you probably don’t need to buy new iterations of the franchise each and every year; one every two years should sort you. In later years, that’s been adapted to exercising some patience and waiting until this or last year’s version eventually makes its way to Pl...

Metal Eden piqued my interest back in April, a high-speed, sci-fi FPS that looked to combine the likes of Doom with the traversal of Titanfall. It also marks quite the departure from Reikon Games previous’ title, the top- down, twin-stick shooter Ruiner.

Update: Star Wars Outlaws is out now on Switch 2, and from our limited testing serves as a solid port. Capped at 30 frames-per-second and with the occasional stutter, it’s not as visually impressive as other versions, of course, but those who play exclusively on Switch — or, who value portability and don’t have the likes of a Steam Deck — will find tremendous entertainment from Massive and Ubisoft.

Updated review: Another day, another (remastered?) remaster. What’s really notable about Gears of War Reloaded, formerly Gears of War Ultimate Edition, formerly Gears of War, is that this is another instance of a former Xbox exclusive heading to PlayStation.

Everyone’s favourite ninja, Joe Musashi, is back in Shinobi Art of Vengeance, the first of a series of projects that look to revitalise classic Sega franchises like Jet Set Radio, Golden Axe, and Crazy Taxi. Equal parts nostalgic and modern, and priced at $48 AUD, Art of Vengeance isn’t one to be missed.

There wasn’t a single second playing Drag x Drive in its pre-release window that I wasn’t thinking about Rematch. So, please indulge me for a moment while I talk about Rematch instead of Drag x Drive.

One of the first games that I can truly remember playing and enjoying as a kid was Police Quest 2 The Vengeance. I was terrible at it and I daresay some of its larger themes flew right over my head, but it nevertheless made me enamoured with the idea of being a cop.

FBC: Firebreak

Despite a general feeling that Remedy can do no wrong, I walked out of a hands-on FBC Firebreak preview last month year just a tad concerned. Paired with two other journos from (quite literally) halfway around the world, my experience was incredibly laggy; I admittedly didn’t help matters by playing via Steam with the game installed on an HDD rather than an SSD.
