Still, I felt compelled to beat Bullet Soul several times over after my first completion, bolstered by the loud audio (including cheeky catchphrases) and bumpin’ soundtrack helmed by legendary composer Kenji Ito. It’s not the most challenging game around (especially if you opt for co-op, as no concessions are made to make it tougher), but it’s another welcome entry that’s made its way into my shmup folder on Steam.

Once in a while, a game releases without many people noticing. Bullet Soul recently arrived on Xbox 360 and it's a pretty interesting shoot 'em up so let's take to the skies and see if it has enough soul to be a worthwhile shooter.
Bullet Soul takes liberal notes from classic 90s shooters like Raiden, putting the focus on firing and dodging bullets. Though it lacks the depth and replayabilty of classics like Ikaruga or Radiant Silvergun, players looking to rise the leaderboards will enjoy blasting through waves of alien scum.
