Castlestorm is a light-hearted, fairly in-depth Tower defense game that offers some unique mechanics, quirky story, and fairly solid controls. It is hampered a bit by the Switch analog sticks and repetitiveness due to the nature of the genre, however overall it's a fun title and if it's one you’ve never picked up, I would recommend picking it up on the Switch. It's a great title to play on the go.

If I was ever going to get into a tower defense game, it was going to be CastleStorm VR. Since the advent of the genre, I’ve never felt drawn in by the gameplay loop. Bringing the game into VR, however, provided me with some intriguing bait. I love VR. CastleStorm VR is a fun, addictive game of destruction, however, it lacks some confidence in the VR side, as if it’s afraid to go all in with the format.
CastleStorm VR is the same game that was released a few years ago, but the new VR elements once you pop the PSVR headset on make it feel like new. The gameplay is addictive, the story enjoyable and while the graphics aren’t cutting edge, the game’s overall aesthetic is what pleases the most in this respect. CastleStorm VR is a great example of a developer thinking outside the box with VR and I hope to see more titles like it appear in the coming ye...
Zen Studios must be contractually obliged to port CastleStorm to every viable platform, because it seems to get around like a king on a crusade. It’s a weird one because the game has never, in this author’s opinion, been all that exciting – but people must enjoy it otherwise it wouldn’t keep popping up like a bad smell. Thankfully, this PlayStation VR edition is perhaps the best version of the release, purely because it’s so much easier to keep track of everything that’s going on when you can observe the playing field by moving your head.
