Do you know what I like? Yes, I do like Scotch, but something else. Yes, I like beer too, and that does come into the story a little, but we're not looking at booze. Giving up that easy? Well, okay, what I like are incredibly attractive women called Katherine, or Catherine, who inexplicably want to sleep with me. What I don't like are nightmares where I'm about to be murdered by said Catherine - or Katherine.
Catherine Classic is a port to PC of one of the more unique and surreal gaming experiences around. Scary, thought provoking, and beautiful to behold, Catherine combines horror, romance, puzzles and platforming into a must play experience for anyone. Highly repeatable and challenging gameplay defines this true classic cult hit that begs to be discovered and rediscovered despite outwardly obscuring its true nature behind the standard expectations of a game in this style.
Let’s ignore the fact that Atlus will be releasing Catherine: Full Body later this year, and instead, revel in the glory of Catherine Classic finally making its way to Steam. In an age where remasters and remakes have become all too common, it took Atlus far too long to actually bring Catherine to modern consoles or platforms.
An adult video game that is neither exploitative nor pretentious, but instead weaves a fun yet incisive tale about all too human characters.
Another console favourite lands on PC.
