Part art project, part action game, Clash: Artifacts of Chaos looks like nothing you’ve played this year. Or, probably any other. But there are lots of games oozing style but lacking substance. Where does Clash: Artifacts of Chaos land as an action game, aside from its art?
Clash: Artifacts of Chaos is an idiosyncratic adventure, managing to be jaw-droppingly beautiful, fun and often mesmerising while hanging on to some of the Souls-like genre’s most frustrating elements.

I’ve rarely been so disappointed in a game. Clash is stunning to look at and listen to. It has excellent 1 on 1 combat set in a uniquely crazy world. The utter lack of care for its player’s time and obtuseness to the point of maddening frustration hold back what should be one of the year’s most compelling titles. If you have the skill, patience, and a walkthrough guide this one may be worth a look at on sale.
