This game follows the thong-tastic adventures of a misguided hero named DeathSpank. Comic fans will recognize DeathSpank as a character that first appeared on writer Ron Gilbert's Grumpy Gamer website in a series of animated comics he penned with long-time creative collaborator, Clayton Kauzlaric.

If you don’t feel like dispensing justice by yourself then you can get a friend for some local drop-in/drop-out co-op where the other player takes control of Deathspank’s sidekick Sparkles the Wizard. Sparkles comes with a healing spell, flamethrower, and the ability to create a clone that runs around only to explode in a fiery explosion. All of these spells have a cool down wait after using them, but you can spam a basic purple blast. You can’t customize Sparkles(but who would seriously want to? If you like sweet loot, hacking things to death, looking at beautiful landscapes and laughing at good writing, you might want to pick up DeathSpank. However, although the game shines in many areas, it does have its flaws. Questing can turn into a noticeable chore, and I would have gladly substituted some of the “go fetch” missions in favor of some more brainteasers. Still, DeathSpank is a fun adventure worth exploring.
