Despite a handful of frustrations, I still had a fun time with Duck Side of the Moon. Its charming world, adorable characters, and relaxing gameplay loop make it an easy game to enjoy. Especially if you like cosy exploration games with a bit of humour mixed in. The deeper themes about burnout and slowing down also helped give the adventure a little more emotional weight beneath all the space duck chaos.

Cozy games are huge at the moment. Whether it’s needing to wrest some feeling of control and joy back from your everyday worries is a discussion for another time, but there is a growing range and depth to the category that goes far beyond the initial focus on farming sims. Duck Side of the Moon takes the tone and atmosphere of the cozy sim and marries it to a third person exploration game filled with charming characters and emotional growth.

It's very short but oh-so-sweet: Duck Side of the Moon is a cosy adventure about repairing your ship after crash-landing on a rocky planet, and it'll warm your heart. It's just a shame that it's done with in only a few hours.
