F1 2010 Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
F1 2010 is one of the most comprehensive and complete Formula 1 offerings to date, and has everything we’ve come to expect from the genre over the years.
But such teething problems don’t obscure the fact that F1 2010 is easily the best Grand Prix game since Geoff Crammond was on the beat. Its driving is second to none and is brought alive by a dynamic weather system, while its racing is as thrilling as the real thing. It’s an exacting take by a team that clearly understands what makes F1 tick, and while a handful of issues hold it back from challenging Forza and Gran Turismo just yet, for now racing fans can rest assured that the world’s fastest sport is in safe hands.

In F1 2010 gamers will take on the full, expanded grid in a variety of game modes including GRAND PRIX, Championship, Time Trial and an extensive, innovative Career mode. F1 2010 will also feature a highly advanced damage model, fully dynamic weather system and extensive competitive multiplayer options.
Of course, such problems will hardly make a difference for the die hard fan. F1 2010 has been a long time coming, and those who enjoy the sport will find such value in this title. If the career and time trials aren’t enough, online play will add a competitiveness that cannot be replicated from the AI. Even here, you can commit to a full season’s worth of play, or a quick lap with the friends when you’ve got some time free. For a game that’s so realistic, Codemasters must be commended...
Despite Lewis Hamilton making the F1 high-life out to be all about Pussycat Dolls, multi-million sponsorship deals and honours from our gracious Queen, the action on the track and in the pit lanes is a lot less glamorous. There, the drivers are more keyed into that wavelength of perfection and obsession, where every split-second counts. Lewis knows that. Codemasters know that. And thanks to F1 2010 – the first next/current generation formula 1 racing title – we know that.
