Go Vacation is a sports game developed by Bandai Namco. The game was originally released in 2011 on the Wii, bringing a more in-depth version of the likes of Wi
Go Vacation has remained the fun experience that it was ages ago. Naturally, it hasn’t aged well from a graphical perspective, but it does a lot of good in its totality. The improvements of the controls and multiplayer really shine through, something I had good hopes for. Sadly, they have done little to fix the complaints of the activity unlocking process. It is a damaging factor on the experience as a whole, something that Bandai Namco really should’ve fixed. If you are in need of a true multiplayer journey, you can do a lot worse than this fine package.
Go Vacation evolves the mini-game collection genre in many ways, but it lacks the polish of Nintendo's first party efforts. The open world island, while fun to explore, feels empty because of the lifeless NPCs that haunt its shores. You’ll find plenty to do with the wide variety of mini-games, though some (beach volleyball) didn’t turn out as well as others (table hockey). Although Go Vacation certainly has its moments of intense fun, I found the lack of polish disappointing. All in all, it makes for a nod-worthy effort that boasts numerous triumphs, but ultimately never turns out quite as goo...
I don't often go on holiday. Or, vacation, as our American friends call it. It's lovely to get away, of course, but it's also expensive and stressful. More expensive. In fact, how do people afford to travel? I struggle to figure out how people afford food so seeing friends on Facebook jet-setting around the place tends to make me feel sick with rage.
Go Vacation is a shallow, kid-friendly minigame collection with nice open spaces and overly simplistic games.
The last time I went on vacation, I drove a little ways to the ocean to enjoy the beach and all that Mother Nature had to offer. It was relaxing and just what I needed. The same cannot be said for the majority of my vacations from years past. Most involved a lot of activities, walking and trying to get to each place as quickly as possible. It was frantic and I never really had to chance to enjoy it until had a chance to sit back and browse through all the pictures we took. So when I played “Go Vacation” for the Wii, I hoped I could get a good break from the mediocre games I’ve played of l...
The best part of Go Vacation is strangely enough to play alone and just explore the Kawaii Island, the location where the game is taking place. You can go hiking, go for a ride, buy a house and go skateboarding - amongst other things. This hub world is therefore very well-developed, which is the opposite of the sports that make up the actual gameplay. No, unfortunately, this really isn't good enough and the wait for a really good local multiplayer game with mini-games for Switch goes on. We're hopeful Super Mario Party will sort us out later this year.
