Imagine Forza Horizon 5 rebuilt with LEGO and that's pretty much what you're getting with LEGO 2K Drive. Visual Concepts has delivered an exemplary open-world racing game that's family friendly without being too simplistic, and one which works superbly in split-screen co-op.

The licensed racer from 2K and Visual Concepts is a delightful combination of open-world and kart racers, with tons of Lego customization to boot.

LEGO 2K Drive is a great family-friendly racer with plenty on offer for everyone to enjoy. Great races, an in-depth car builder and side activities flesh out the game that's only marred by microtransactions and a lack of character creator.

Other than having vague missions at times to get to story-essential races, LEGO 2K Drive is an incredible time. There's so much fun to be had that it's impossible to be bored by anything that goes on and the mission variety is far more of a blessing than a curse -- although work does need to be done to explain how to accomplish mission objectives. LEGO 2K Drive is at its best when it focuses on the last word of its title - driving around and taking part in wild and wacky side missions as you run into them is the best way to tackle this open world racer. A Legofied open-world racer of bright humour and drift-heavy handling, scuffed by baggage and busywork.

There's fun to be had with LEGO 2K Drive's snappy driving mechanics, vibrant biomes, and creation and customization mechanics, but issues such as its inconsistent AI, dull open world implementation, and somewhat grindy progression hold the experience back.

All in all, LEGO 2K Drive satisfies any craving for brick-racing that you may have had in the past with A+ class but still is rough around the edges because of its microtransaction system.
