GRIME takes influence from more genres than most games and succeeds at combining them into a cohesive whole. It's well worth your time.
Grime is an expertly crafted 2D action-adventure game that combines satisfying combat, tight platforming, and rewarding progression to earn its place as one of the most enjoyable titles I’ve played this year. It’s also got some brutally tough, memorable bosses that will truly test everything you’ve got. If you’re a fan of a challenge and aren’t too fussed about a story, you’ll have an incredible time with Grime.
Grime is a superb indie gem that will delight fans of challenging games. While its design is influenced by Metroidvanias, the difficulty and mentality are straight from From Software’s book. There's some issues that are being worked on by the developers, but the combat is so good here that backtracking through areas rarely feels like a chore. In short, Grime is an essential purchase for anybody seeking a real challenge.
GRIME is a side-scrolling action-adventure roleplaying game developed by Clover Bite and published by Akapura Games. It sees you playing as a stone body called the vessel, as you try to survive in a strange and surreal landscape.
Grime packs a mean punch in both its platforming and combat, with a visual design that's worth writing home about. Its mediocre Metroidvania aspects are what keep it from being a must-play, however.
Grime 2 has decent progression and looks amazing, but it loses some of what made the original so weird and unique.
Indie Metroidvania games are some of the best out there. They bring challenging and often time brutal gameplay in with some great level design, and often times unique mechanics as well. Although, there has been a slight oversaturation of the genre over the years. GRIME is a fantastic game that brings more than enough to the table to really stand out.
Time Crisis turned 30 this year. Tassei Denki, a manufacturer of licensed gaming equipment, saw fit to release the G’AIM’E (simply pronounced “game”), a dedicated lightgun home console, fully licensed by Bandai Namco Entertainment. It will work on any modern display – from your desktop monitor to your 150” projection screen.
