Immortals Fenyx Rising: The Lost Gods

The Lost Gods is the best expansion released by Ubisoft for Immortals: Fenyx Rising. It features the same type of dad joke humor prevalent in the main game and A New God while utilizing the open-world and the addition of new characters and locations that set the Myths of Eastern Realm apart from the rest of the game. There are certain problems and shortcomings, but altogether the DLC provides a lot of fun.

The Lost Gods gives us a completely new way to explore the world of Immortals, as well as a natural extension on the events of the first DLC, A New God. While the camera can be problematic, the charm, puzzles, humor, and brand new ways to play are worth pushing through it. It’s a great cap to the game, and the team’s willingness to try new things speaks volumes.

Immortals Fenyx Rising surprised us late last year with its colorful presentation solid mechanics and hilarious writing that set the game apart from the multitude of open-world games released in the past few years. The same did not happen with the A New God and Myths of the Eastern Realm expansions: both of them did very little to expand the game, featuring more of the same and, in the case of the Myths of the Eastern Realm expansion, a very uninspired more of the same.

The Lost Gods is, by far, the most adventurous DLC and the most fascinating to play but it’s still bogged down in the same mistakes made before it. This is absolutely the DLC you should play but it's still not as fun as the base game.

The Lost Gods is the third and final DLC for Immortals Fenyx Rising. While it introduces new perspectives and mechanics, it doesn't exactly come together into a cohesive whole.

Despite its issues, The Lost Gods is still lots of fun to play. It's generally a strong addition to Immortals Fenyx Rising, combining substantial changes with the gameplay elements that made the base game enjoyable. There are plenty of puzzles and challenges on Pyrite Island, especially for those who want to complete everything the game has to offer. Ash is also a compelling hero, and it's a joy to watch her grow stronger over the course of the story. It also serves as a nice epilogue for...
