My final conclusion. I think Immortals is more fun than Breath of the Wild. There I said it!  No taking it back now. It is funny, a blast to play, beautiful, and has some of the best music in any video game. I do not understand why Ubisoft released it with so little fanfare and sandwiched it in between so many gigantic releases. If this game had come out either a few months earlier or later I think it would have been a huge hit. As it is routinely on sale and I can easily recommend it to anyone who has a pulse. Immortals Fenyx Rising undoubtedly owes a huge debt to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, borrowing wholesale as it does from its core gameplay mechanics and narrative structure. Immortals Fenyx Rising is cheerful fun, offering a fresh take on Greek mythology that is cartoonish but with just enough humanity to keep it grounded. While the game plays like a open world epic, every mechanic in Immortals is tied to well-designed puzzles. Fenyx’s nerdy charm really carries the story. Her enthusiasm for mythology is infectious. But the game’s monotony lingers in the background, whether that’s through level design or combat encounters. Still, at a breezy runtime — story-focused playthroughs take about 30 hours — and with such stunning vistas, even Zeus, famous for his harsh judgment, would forgive the game’s developers. 7/10

They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and for the most part, that saying rings true for Immortals Fenyx Rising. It’s a charming game that borrows heavily from 2017’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and I’ll fully admit that I may have prejudged it as merely being a generic clone of one of the best adventure games of this decade.
