I, for one, haven’t played one in a good decade, with the last time I’ve tackled a Just Dance game being back in the Wii era, so when I was offered the opportunity to see how the Switch, with its motion-based controls and casual vibes, handles the franchise, I was up for the task. Despite a disappointing setlist, Just Dance 2025 Edition still delivers on the fun of the pastime. Some of the choreography can be too complicated for its own good, but there are some tracks that stand out with easier to follow moves like "Paint the Town Red" and "Vogue" by Madonna. The visuals are also striking, while the inclusion of multiple difficulties within some songs is a step in the right direction.

Ultimately, if you've played one Just Dance game, you've played them all, as not much varies when it comes to the actual gameplay itself. However, if fans see a handful of tracks that they're interested in playing in this year's edition, Just Dance 2025 will be a welcome addition to their library. Hardcore fans will likely already be purchasing the game anyway, but for new or returning fans, this seems as good a point to jump back in as any.
