Land of the Vikings is a beautifully done survival colony sim that takes the genre to the next level with gridless building. The ease of managing your village and the simplicity of the UI are very much appreciated. It makes the hassle of doing mundane tasks for your village so much easier. The art, music, and attention to detail is phenomenal. Being able to build a village in any way I want is so much fun. This Land of the Vikings review will take you on a quick tour of how the Vikings rebuild their settlement and restore their olden glory, ranging from building houses and creating farm fields to training troops for your army in training camps, and see if you have what it takes to be a great Jarl.

Land of the Vikings has a great premise and much potential to become a stand-out city builder. However, it still is several patches away from becoming a noteworthy classic. Lap Games absolutely needs to improve the game’s performance and add many more quality-of-life features. Diehard fans can still consider Land of the Vikings while it is in Early Access. But, those newer to the genre should wait until the game’s full retail release in the future.

If you have a few hours to spend, Land of the Vikings will give you an opportunity to enjoy creating a settlement and seeing it grow, all the while adding little touches that make it yours. However, the game doesn't prioritize its own unique features, instead upholding the age-old formula of the genre.
