Witty banter, evocative storytelling, whimsical art, and spot-on voice acting makes Lil’ Guardsman a game not to be missed. Is it too soon to give it my Game of the Year?

Unique, funny and so entertaining, Lil' Guardsman has all the traits I want from games in my old age. Lil' Guardsman is like nothing else on the market, it's beautiful and so well written that its world will swallow you whole. It's not often you get to play a game that makes you smile from start to finish but Lil' Guardsman stole a Lil' piece of my heart. I cannot recommend it enough.

Lil' Guardsman is a fantastic game that perfectly captures the feel of Papers, Please while standing out as its own unique creation thanks to clever gameplay tweaks such as a main focus on deduction, the use of time travel and a limited amount of actions and resources to manage. On top of all that, it has a stellar cast of characters with perfectly humorous writing accompanying them, all backed up...

Lil’ Guardsman caught my attention from the moment I first saw it announced. Its adorable art still and quirky humor looked right up my alley. Even though I was initially concerned that it might be a touch too casual, I was still eager to check it out. Now after having played it (more than once), I can say wholeheartedly that it surpassed my expectations in just about every way.

It added a ton to the replayability for me, prompting a second playthrough immediately after I finished my first.  Bug-wise I only ran into one major one, which was a game crash the first three times I tried to play.  After a system restart everything worked fine though, so it may have been on my Series X’s end.

Lil’ Guardsman is so much fun to play. Players will be laughing out loud from the very beginning and will enjoy the fun references and silly jokes throughout. And those that like to play games multiple times will be able to see all of the different options and outcomes. Lil Guardsman's mix of border control and adventure is a whole heap of fun, with genuine comedic moments combined with great acting. There are a few issues with the story, with the occasional inconsistency or predictable moment, but all in all this is a great addition to the genre.

Lil is taking over the job of Guardsman of the Sprawl and your decisions can have dire consequences in this hilarious indie funfest.
