Lost Ruins is a decent 2D action game. Although It's slow pace and lack of polish may be a hard sell for those looking for something more sophisticated.
The visuals are strong and most of the elements are competent, but this is a middle-of-the-road game that squanders its potential with some baffling decisions.
Lost Ruins is yet another retro-inspired 2D survival action game, this time featuring a girl who wakes up in a dungeon without her memories. With the help of a mysterious magician, Beatrice, we embark on a perilous mission exploring ruins, battling monsters, and facing the inevitable bosses in a Metroid-lite adventure.
Lost Ruins should be an OK game for fans of the genre, as it stands though if you play this game and are ok with its art style then as the zoomers would say, that’s sus. A fun gear system, rather nice graphics, and great music are massively let down by a paint by number, creepy as hell story. Technically I might have been interested in what this dev can do in the future, but God damn man. This game is gross.
