All throughout my youth, a new Mega Man game was a release to be celebrated. I had grown up alongside the Blue Bomber and his various adventures against eight robot masters and their current evil leader. Moreso than the original eight, I was much more interested in the Mega Man X series and could routinely cite the optimal path to Sigma for the first couple of titles. The first of the two Mega Man X Legacy Collections contains four amazing masterpieces of platforming goodness. While it does not contain as many games as the original collection, the games here are all well worth your time, if not to revisit games from a bygone era, then to experience what all the fuss was about.
A great collection of some of the hardest and most enjoyable titles in the past twenty years. The Mega Man X Legacy Collection features plenty of great content not just with the titles included but also the extra content that Capcom have lovingly packed into it.
The games look great, sound fantastic, control like a dream, with some great extras thrown in to boot as well. If you are a fan of Mega Man, the Mega Man X legacy collections are an unhesitant yes.

Ultimately, both Mega Man X Legacy Collections 1 and 2 nail exactly what modern-era collections of retro video game titles should be: a compendium of everything the series has to offer, including the base games, fresh new tweaks, added bonuses, trivia, trailers, and more. There's really no stone left unturned with either Mega Man X Legacy Collection, making them perfect for longtime series fans or for gamers new to the Mega Man X formula.
So, whether or not you should buy Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 + 2 really depends on how much of a Mega Man fan you are. If you love the Blue Bomber then you’ll probably want to jump in with both feet; it offers eight games that will challenge and entertain you, a couple of extensive museums, and one new mode that offers a fun and lasting challenge. If you’re not already a fan though, there’s a good chance that the games included will have you scratching your head as to why they’re so highly revered. Though that’s not to say some won’t discover something special in them.
