Professional reviews from gaming critics

I did run into a few bugs in my review build of the game. Multiple times the game’s waypoint system failed to initiate the next area. Thankfully the levels are quite short, so I never lost more than a minute or two of progress, but I hope it’s fixed for launch. Otherwise, the game was stable on PC with no crashes. A cool feature that PC had and I’m not sure that console will is an auto-generated ....

If you're the sort of person who saw martial arts movies in your teens (or younger) and immediately started mimicking scraps with your best mates as you left the cinema, then Midnight Fight Express is for you. Jacob Dwinzel feels like he is aspiring to be the games industry's equivalent of The Raid and Gangs of London director Gareth Edwards and cannot wait to see whatever violent delights this ac...

Midnight Fight Express is a short and brutal fight that doesn’t overstay its welcome. You’ll definitely come out of it with more than a few scrapes, but it’s all worth it just to watch the sun rise at the end.

Overall though, there’s a hell of a lot to like about Midnight Fight Express. While it has a few issues that are likely to bring you out of the experience, the fluidity and brutality of the combat will win you over. This is a game that’s simply a joy to play for the most part, with some neat ideas and a beat-heavy soundtrack thrown in for good measure. If you want to beat up large numbers of goons...

Midnight Fight Express is a surprisingly fun and rewarding beat-em-up that gives you more choices than you might expect.

Midnight Fight Club might drop the ball slightly in terms of its narrative aspects, but it gets the important stuff absolutely bang on. This is a slick and addictive arcade brawler that gives you an expansive arsenal of moves, skills and weapons with which to slink off into the night on a blood-soaked mission to take back control of the city. There's tons of replayabilty here, with S-ranks to chas...

Midnight Fight Express wants you to be the actor, director, producer, and choreographer of your own action movie all at once, and it absolutely nails that aspect. As I made my way through the city, I found myself wishing the night would never end. But you know what they say, all good things must end and all that. At least I'll always have neon blue hair Babyface.

Midnight Fight Express wants you to pull off sick moves and feel good.

Midnight Fight Express is a beat 'em up that should feel familiar to genre fans, but does things so well that it doesn't matter. Fast and brutal, the game is a satisfying and bloody journey of revenge.

Isometric brawler, Midnight Fight Express, aims to place you in the lead role of a frantic, action movie. Up against impossible odds, your goal is to eradicate all in your path and leave a trail of bodies to your next victim. Has Jacob Dzwinel found the perfect formula to create a beautiful ballet of brutality or is it just a button-bashing B-movie?

Although the gunplay felt solid and there's a lot of replayability, Midnight Fight Express' sloppy controls, poor story, and rather mediocre graphics make for an average-at-best experience.

Another pass of the floor polisher probably would have helped. There are 40 missions which equal about six hours of runtime with a lot of highs and lows. A tighter narrative wouldn’t have even been necessary if the moment-to-moment gameplay was a little more consistent. Midnight Fight Express is just a mixed bag. There’s a lot here to appreciate, but just as much is going to have you curling your ...
