Monster Jam Steel Titans Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
Growing up in South America, I didn’t have a lot of contact with monster truck racing besides occasional clips being shown on TV. Or later, spamming those huge trucks whenever I was playing Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas as a teenager. When I was invited to check Monster Jam Steel Titans out at E3 2019, I didn’t know what to expect. All I knew about Monster Jam is that there was this abysmal game published by Game Mill a few years ago. I didn’t know if I was looking at a sequel, a reboot...
Monster Jam Steel Titans takes fans beyond the stadium, allowing fans to experience what it takes to train and eventually compete like their favorite, real-life, professional Monster Jam athletes.
As mentioned at the start of this review, Monster Jam Steel Titans is a massive improvement over its predecessor, but it’s still not what you’d call a great – or even good – game. The foundations are here for a refreshing and unique experience, but they need building upon and refining. Devout monster truck fans are likely to get some fun out of it, but everyone else is better off either avoiding it or picking it up with a discount. Monster Jam Steel Titans isn’t the worst racing game available right now, but it’s still very much trailing behind the competition.
It’s an entertaining, yet unrealistic version of playing with Monster Trucks.
Verdict: Monster Jam Steel Titans is a solid Monster Truck game with unique events, thrilling gameplay, and chaotic nature. While the title lacks the presentation and robustness of many Triple-A titles, if you’re looking for a racer that’s easy to pick up, hard to master, and fun to mess with, you can do a lot worse than Monster Jam Steel Titans.
