PaRappa the Rapper Remastered Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
PaRappa the Rapper Remastered is a game we’d recommend to every die-hard PlayStation fan, but being a straight-up remaster is a double-edged sword. On one hand it preserves everything about the original game PaRappa fans love, albeit in a much higher resolution, but on the other, it shuns new features or a revised approach to its rhythmic gameplay. There’s a lot of history there as well as some great tracks and one of gaming’s most iconic art styles. PaRappa can be as punishing as it is unconventional but, with an open mind, it may also be one of the best games you’ve experience on PlayStation...
PaRappa the Rapper Remastered suffers greatly from being a lazy port with no extra features. The lack of calibration settings stings, but those willing to overlook its faults will find a unique experience worth at least one playthrough.

All in all, while you can still have some fun with PaRappa the Rapper Remastered, I’d by lying if I didn’t say that it’s a bit of a disappointment. But with Sony deciding to bring PaRappa out of retirement in a remastered role, can the old pooch keep up wit...
One of the most influential rhythm action games ever made, but the graphics and gameplay are definitely show their age – remaster or not.
PaRappa The Rapper Remastered is not quite the hero’s welcome PaRappa deserved. I wanted to believe, and there’s evidence here of why the game is fondly remembered, but this particular dog has had his day.
