Rare Replay is, simply put, one of the best collections in gaming history. Hours upon hours of gameplay await players, and with classics like Banjo, Conker, and Perfect Dark those hours won't be wasted.

As a compilation, Rare Replay is one of the best deals on the market. As a look into the illustrious developer, there's a ton of great history to be experienced. As an experience, this represents three decades of gaming that must be experienced.

Rare Replay is an incredible package. Its presentation is charming, the extras are amazing, and so many of the games included here are still a blast to play. Whether it’s your first time through or you’re revisiting decades later, Rare’s journey through the past 30 years of video game history is a fascinating one, and Rare Replay does an incredible job of capturing the essence of what makes the studio’s work so unique in our medium.

Traveling through the virtual halls of Rare Replay is like venturing through a well-preserved museum, one that proudly showcases the many timeless works of an extraordinarily creative developer. This package isn't merely a collection of 30 games carelessly slapped together for the sake of doing so; it's concerned with little details and extras, and it's presented in a way unlike any compilation before it. There are certain control and formatting options that we would've liked to see included, but there's so much engrossing entertainment here that it feels wrong to whine about what are, in most...

Rare Replay is exactly what's been advertised and it's so modestly priced that it's easily one of the biggest no-brainers in gaming. Anyone that was around to experience these original games will find more than enough nostalgia to warrant picking this up, while those being exposed to Rare's backlog of classic titles for the first time could very well see why the developer has reached an iconic level amongst many gamers. While a few games may be missing from the final package (i.e. GoldenEye 007 and Conker: Live & Reloaded) and the controls have a tricky learning curve for some games, the end r...

While there are some games included that you’re unlikely to make repeated visits to, Rare Replay offers an incredible retrospective of one of the most iconic game studios of our time. For less than £20 it offers exceptional value for money, and with the additional content, documentary pieces and Snapshot modes it’s anything but a lazy cash-in. Whether returning to games of your childhood, or experiencing these titles for the first time, Rare Replay should be an essential purchase for Xbox One owners.

Overall, Rare Replay offers outstanding value for money. With its excellent presentation, huge list of games and a plethora of behind the scenes features, there are many hours of nostalgic fun to be had by all. Sure, some of the games have aged badly and are nothing more than a novelty now, but you’ll find some corkers on here that’ll make the purchase worthwhile, especially if you’ve never played Rare’s Xbox 360 output. It’s just a shame that all the Rare Revealed extras are locked, as completing milestones on some of the older games in order to grab the required stamps will be very draining....

Rare Replay is a lovely collection that I can't help but feel could have been even lovelier.

Rare Replay is a compilation with selective eye sight, but portrays the studio for what they did best: Character.

A rare chance to celebrate a developer’s work through three whole decades, and even if some classics are missing what’s left still represents a laudable achievement in gaming.

Rare Replay is one of the best compilation titles you could ever pick up. There is tons of quality and replay value here. Just being able to have Battletoads, RC Pro AM, Conker, Banjo-Kazooie and Perfect Dark all together on one package is huge to me and most of the other games are fantastic as well. Throw in all of in game achievements, challenges and history videos and you have the definitive Rare collection. Highly recommended.

Celebration is part of why Rare Replay exists. Even before the gaming industry became a multimillion-dollar battleground where five million copies sold can be considered a “failure”, many studios were periodically kicked to the curb.  From 38 Studios to Zipper Interactive, Bullfrog to Eurocom, the fact that Rare has managed to survive thirty years and six console generations is pretty astounding. The thing is, I can’t help but feel a little cynical and believe that while part of the reason for this game’s existence is to celebrate, the real reason is to jump on a bandwagon.
