Bulletproof monk.
Initially, I was really taken with Redeemer. The violent action, slick controls and impressive visuals made a great first impression. After three hours of play, however, it became a slog to work through. The combat became tiresome, and many of the enemies too frustrating to defeat. If you’re planning on playing it in short, sharp bursts, Redeemer may be worth your investment, but it’s hardly essential.
I genuinely don't know what to think of Redeemer at times. There are a few select words that can be used to describe the game and few of them are flattering. Possibly the best word is bonkers, because that's exactly what Redeemer is.
Redeemer is a steroid-fuelled rampage of pure aggressive brutality. It’s the kind of testosterone driven slaughterfest that would leave the Gears of War characters whimpering in a pile of pathetic manlessenss. It’s every other synonym for macho violence you can think of – and for that reason I kind of love Redeemer.
May it be the likes of Shadow of the Colossus or Metal Gear Solid, if it’s quite there but not enough to push the boundaries, it’s still an awesome game.
A dull and repetitive brawler that channels a little bit of the Batman Arkham games
