Sea of Stars: Throes of the Watchmaker DLC is so well done and needs to be played. Besides the fact that it’s free, I didn’t want it to end!
Sea of Stars: Throes of the Watchmaker adds an extra campaign that somehow surpasses the base game, and it won't cost you a penny.

Sea of Stars Throes of the Watchmaker delivers a follow-up adventure to its core game that is worthy of the legacy it inherits.
Sea of Stars: Throes of the Watchmaker is a must-play for fans of the base game. Sea of Stars is a must play for fans of the genre.
You can’t argue against the value of free DLC that expands on an already classic RPG. With more inventive, enjoyable combat and a compelling additional story, Throes of the Watchmaker is tougher, perhaps a tad short, but just as entertaining as the main campaign.
Throes of the Watchmaker feels like a love letter from Sabotage Studios to all the players and fans who believed in, funded, and engaged with Sea of Stars. The DLC doesn't try to reinvent the wheel, and despite introducing new features, the essence and gameplay loop are the same as the base game. The highlight of the DLC is how it tries to give more personality to the protagonists, Zale and Valere...
Sea of Stars: Throes of the Watchmaker is an attempt to make the stars of the base game actual characters, and while it fails at that the effort is appreciated. Still, the game itself is a ton of fun, with great combat, gorgeous visuals, fantastic music, and fun puzzles.
Sea of Stars: Throes of the Watchmaker is an excellent follow-up that further fleshes out supporting characters and backstory.

It starts by surprisingly touching on a minor plot point around someone’s identity, which ropes the Solstice Warriors into making a deal with the eponymous Watchmaker to clean up another of the Fleshma...
Throes of the Watchmaker looks to improve on the issues that some had with Sea of Stars, but fails to move the needle one way or the other. Those who enjoyed their time with the base game will probably have a great time with this free DLC, while those who didn't gel with the original release won't find much to win them over.
