In a market increasingly saturated with games that try to add a few too many hours of game, it can be hard to stand out. But Shadow Warrior 3: Definitive Edition manages to do just that with a very streamlined approach to its gameplay. As I delved into the game’s unique world and fast-paced action, I found a breath of fresh air in a game that is fun in a bite-sized kind of way.
Shadow Warrior 3 is a fast-paced FPS game that allows you to slice, shoot, and pulverize your enemies in gruesome ways. And doing that all on the Steam Deck feels fantastic with some tweaking!
As it stands, Shadow Warrior 3 is a fine game, and the Definitive Edition will be a welcome upgrade to owners of the original console versions, but it only manages to meet expectations while also running it under a track of abrasive banter. It’s like playing skeeball while the fire alarms keep going off. It’s not a bad way to spend your time, but you might be happier if you went and found out what’s burning.
