Snack World: The Dungeon Crawl - Gold Reviews

Overall, Snack World: The Dungeon Crawl - Gold is a fun title. It's exactly what it sets out to be and it does so surprisingly well. While it’s not particularly complex in terms of either gameplay or story, there are surprisingly layered mechanics worth delving into if you enjoy light dungeon crawlers, roguelike games, or loot-based systems. Because of its jack-of-all-trades nature, each individual component isn’t as fleshed out as it would be in games devoted solely to one mechanic. However, when these components are combined, Snack World creates a unique system more than capable of scratching that itch for fans of those genres. In other words, it’s a game that’s greater than the sum of its parts.

Unless you are a die-hard dungeon crawler, I don't see this game holding your interest.

It’s brash, it’s messy at times, and it’s not exactly a good-looking game, but I can’t help but like Snack World: The Dungeon Crawl – Gold. Its silliness is endearing, its larger-than-life characters will make you chortle despite yourself, and even if you’re not an immature child, come on – it’s hard not to laugh at a negative status effect that makes your character constantly fart. It’s a title that proves to be excellent value for money, too. The main campaign will take you at least 25-30 hours to beat, and if you’re having fun, dozens more hours can be sunk into end-game content. As long as you don’t want it do, the quest for better gear never ends.

Snack World works as a tasty, but not entirely satisfying, appetizer, with too much filler and some strange balancing choices.

Stuffed with juicy content but might be too much of a mouthful for some.

The Nintendo Switch is no stranger to ports from other consoles, particularly the 3DS, the newest of which being Snack World: The Dungeon Crawl – Gold. Let’s take a bite out of this snack and see if it is worth the extra calorie intake.
