Snipperclips Plus completes a fantastic cooperative puzzle game. The additional games are a blast, stamp mode is a fun distraction, the new levels are fun with creative ideas, and the ability to play as random shapes breathes more life into an already lively batch of brainteasers.

The Snipperclips DLC makes an already sweet game even sweeter. Most of the new levels slot perfectly into the existing package, bringing fresh ideas that feel right at home without covering too much of the same ground as before. If you’re picking up the all-in Snipperclips Plus bundle, it can be hard to tell where the original game ends and the DLC begins — it’s that seamlessly integrated.

Too often, puzzle games draw players in with mechanics that are easy to wrap your head around, but by the time you reach the end, it overly complicates the formula you originally fell in love with. Within moments of loading into each puzzle in Snipperclips, I was able to understand what my ultimate objective was. Cutting your player character down to either match a particular shape or form a tool needed to achieve a solution is gratifying from the moment you hear the clipping sound, but it's this simplicity that makes Snipperclips an enjoyable puzzler from start to finish.

Snipperclips: Cut It Out, Together! may come to a close too soon, but it makes for a wonderful reprieve for anyone that wants to settle into a different type of game on the Nintendo Switch. Taking its $19.99 USD ($28.19 CAD) price tag into consideration, the finished product is an absolute gem that only helps to highlight one of the major benefits of the platform by allowing for stop-and-drop multiplayer at a moment's notice. Indeed, this downloadable game is well worth the paper.

Snipperclips - Cut It Out, Together! is an impressive showing both as far as first-round Nintendo Switch games go and puzzle titles in general. The only real problems arise from the fact that it’s meant to be played with others, so if that’s not your bag you won’t get as much out of it. Yes, there is a limited amount of content and that hampers the appeal somewhat, but it’s a great icebreaker at house parties.
