Sushi Striker overall is solidly made and had me addicted to its simple yet challenging battles. It’s a game that allows anyone to play in whatever manner they choose. This is definitely one game that I would recommend to anyone looking for a fun and fresh adventure… just try not to play on an empty stomach.

Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido is a surprising action-puzzle game that is deep and enthralling, with a loveable cast of characters. This is the type of puzzle game that will have players hungry for more.
I didn’t know exactly what to think when I first laid my eyes on Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido when it was first unveiled over a year ago. Upon first glan
When everything comes together though, Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido is a really fun game. Playing it felt like a mix between watching an over-the-top anime and playing an advanced match-three puzzle game. The voice acting in itself was enough to keep me going back to it, let alone the ever-changing puzzles, fun and hilarious characters, delicious-looking sushi and adorable sprites. Aside from its minor control issues, Sushi Striker is a welcome addition to my growing Nintendo Switch collection and I’m sure it will be for many others. I can’t wait to get back to it, but first I’m going to ...
Even after hours of playing Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido, I couldn’t believe it was a real game, published by Nintendo no less. I mean this in the best way possible, as Sushi Striker is utterly absurd in every aspect, but a ton of fun at the same time. It’s a surprising twist on the puzzle genre, and a game that has far more depth than you might initially think.
I would hardly call the problems I had with some of the controls a deal breaker though. Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido is a game that’s akin to great the puzzle battlers of yore like Puzzle Fighter and Bust-a-Move. It delivers a great experience in an impressively detailed and adorable package. Sushi Striker deserves a place in the hallowed halls of gaming history with its aforementioned brethren and it has definitely left me in the mood for some California Roll and Unagi. It’s fun title with some great RPG elements and a lot of nods and winks to the Pokemon series while still being its own...
In Sushi Strikers, you aren’t sliding colored gems into groups of three or more on a grid, but the part of your brain that sparks when three of the same thing disappears after you make them neighbors lights up here. To make the whole experience more interesting, it’s all set in a humorous world of sushi-obsessed warriors who fight to the death to defend their right to eat uncooked fish.
You have to hand it to Nintendo whenever they try something new. Fighting opponents by eating sushi then throwing the empty plates at them is a ridiculous premise for a game but is it worth checking out?
If you’re into insane over-the-top anime storytelling, Sushi Striker is going to be right up your alley. It’s up mine, but it almost works better in a straight TV show format than it does as a deep puzzler with RPG elements.
Let’s get one thing clear: this game will leave you craving sushi.
