Tales from Candleforth uses creepy, hand-drawn imagery to tell the story of a young woman searching for missing grandmother. But are the visuals and escape room-like puzzles enough to hold the attention of old-school adventure gamers?Read More
The Spanish studio Under the Bed Games have released their very first title: Tales from Candleforth so let's see what these newcomers brought to the table.
A large disappointment for me was the lack of multiplayer and I can only hope a new game is created with the same system with multiplayer added in. It was the one big thing missing that would have fully brought the experience home for me. Controlling four heroes yourself IS fun but I can only imagine the chaos and hilarity that would ensue from getting three other friends at adventure with voice chat – or better yet three strangers!
While it is guilty of some irksome point-and-click puzzle game pet peeves of mine, Tales from Candleforth is still a neat little puzzle game with gorgeous visuals that you can complete in one sitting.
Tales From Candleforth impresses with its music, visuals and (mostly) logical puzzles, but falls short in both the story and scares departments.
