Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II

Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 is an amazing, epic ride through a glorious hellscape.  Visceral combat is matched by stunning graphics to create a title that never relents in being as over the top as possible.  It is one of my favorite titles of the year so far, and one I cannot wait to dive back into as post-launch content starts to stream in.

The best rendition of the Warhammer 40,000 universe we've ever seen. Bombastic, brutal and brilliant fun from start to finish, though those who are already invested in Games Workshop's sci-fi world will get the most out of it.

Considering the entire package, Space Marine 2 sets a new high bar for Warhammer 40k games.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II is a fantastic PvE shooter with a great story, brilliant level design, and multiplayer options that will keep you engrossed long after you beat the main campaign. The customization options are intricate and incredibly detailed and the game serves as a great jumping off point, regardless of how much you know about the broader Warhammer 40k universe.

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 is a fantastic co-op third-person shooter earns your time with addicting combat and interesting story, but it won't be great for portable play.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is one of the best shooters of 2024. It features a highly-engaging and addictive combat system that would be lost without its cooperative and competitive modes. It’s not without its faults, though, as the campaign isn’t particularly lengthy and will rely on playing the same six missions over and over again until you level up to take on the higher difficulties, which are primarily just more enemies who hit much harder. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II was a blast from start to finish. Only held back by a limited accessibility offering and some technical issues.

After thirteen years, Space Marine is finally back, and it delivers on almost every front – more grisly gore, huge swarms of enemies, and, crucially, incredibly robust combat mechanics. It doesn't do much that's new, but who cares? Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is a very good thing indeed.

Visceral combat, excellent set pieces, and plenty of Warhammer 40,000 fanservice, but is there enough launch content to satisfy less diehard fans?

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is exactly what you think it is: another (rather fun) Space Marine game, albeit one with clunky new mechanics and a pretty forgettable story.
