Back in the 90s, there was an insane number of challengers all trying to claim the beat ’em up crown. The grimdark universe of Warhammer 40,000 is no stranger to video game adaptations, but CRPGs are a fairly new entry to the franchise. That is, until the initial release of Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader in 2023. Owlcat Games have now taken on the mammoth task of converting the adaptation of the tabletop phenomena to more dice roles and extensive dialogue, bringing all of that to Nintendo’s newest hybrid beast. Is there a better mix of genres for horror and first-person shooters? I personally don’t think so, and it seems neither does developer Com8Com1 Software, who have released Bloodshed out of early access and onto console.
