Lorelei and the Laser Eyes
4.5/5

Lorelei and the Laser Eyes is an incredibly stylish puzzler that, during my time with it, continued to beguile right to the end. By allowing you relatively free reign of the hotel to complete its assortment of riddles and puzzles in any order, I never felt like I had reached a stumbling block, often being allowed to come back to every puzzle later and complete other in-game tasks that I had put on the back burner.

4/5

Stellar Blade is an exceptionally well-crafted game that has learned from its influences and honed their teachings to a highly polished standard that can only be commended. The fluidity of its combat is something special. A perfect conglomeration of the flow of NieR: Automata with the cadence and rhythm of Sekiro’s parrying.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2
5/5

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is the triumphant continuation of an already spectacular series that raised the bar of superhero games. While each Spider-Man has been the star of their own game, Spider-Man 2 allows both Peter and Miles to flourish as they take on Kraven, Venom and an entire collection of meticulously crafted villains.

Another Code: Recollection is a lovingly crafted remake of two underrated gems that helped to demonstrate the innovations of their original platforms, and adapted them to the current generation.

The Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy is an excellent collection of games that the earlier Phoenix Wright-heavy series of games may have previously overshadowed. While Phoenix may be the title character in two of the games, these games as a collection collate Apollo’s character and shine a light on the ever-growing team of attorneys as they defend a range of characters, from the malevolent to the bizarrely charming.

As spin-offs go, Song of Nunu does a great job at selling the world around its League of Legends origins. As someone with a somewhat cursory knowledge of the game, it was refreshing to learn about a cast of characters that intrinsically tie into Willump and Nunu’s story, from the mighty Braum to the eerie Lissandra. Additionally, its platforming and puzzle elements are seldom boring, and would particularly appeal to a younger audience.

4/5

Immortals of Aveum, in many ways, is a game about ambition. From its development as a new IP during the pandemic, to the overarching goals of the heroes and villains respectively. In its ambition, it has created a first-person magical shooter that looks and feels like everything it set out to achieve in forging its own identity.

4.5/5

Street Fighter 6 is leading the charge for current-gen fighting games in the most vibrant way possible. With a series of character guides, story campaigns for classic characters and a fantastic open world for you to take the fight to the streets, it feels like everything I could have asked for from a modern Street Fighter entry.
