Battlefield 2042

Battlefield 2042

November 22, 2021
7.5

Battlefield 2042 is the latest entry of the Battlefield franchise, and the first of the “next Battlefield generation”. There’s plenty of attention drawn to its stunningly detailed environments, up to 128-player battles on staggeringly large maps and new unique Specialists with which to conquer them.

Astria Ascending
6.5

Astria Ascending from Artisan Studios has the makings of an incredible JRPG at first glance. The title launched 30 September 2021 for PS4 / PS5, Xbox One / Series X | S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, so everyone who even has a remote interest in the genre can try out the game. However, I find the overall experience rather… mediocre at best, and I hope I can better explain what I mean in the following sections.

House of Ashes is the latest title to The Dark Pictures Anthology, the third in the series of standalone stories. Once again by Supermassive Games, it’s a new narrative, survival horror game for fans to partake in. While we cannot fully disclose much of the story to keep the excitement and mystery, there may still be potential spoilers for those who want to jump in completely fresh. You can also check out our keynote preview here for further reference.

Well, it’s finally here. Tales of Arise can finally unleash its full force onto the world, delays notwithstanding. We’ve already done two previews of the game prior, each time eking out out what little we’re allowed to disclose. It’s not much different here, as, after all, the story is arguably why you’re here, but put it this way: with the full game, there is absolutely no more caveats attached to one’s recommendation of this game. With that preamble done, let’s go through it...

When I first saw Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, I figured it would be a game catered to newbies to the franchise. After dabbling in Riders for a bit, this title seems about as close as a global release for that mobile game. Conferring with those more familiar with the mainline games, Wings of Ruin retains a lot of the elements and formulas the series is known for, while having its own charm, besides being more approachable and not as demanding of you in terms of skill mastery.

Soon, the weight of Yoko Taro will be unleashed upon the world once again, more so following on the heels of a new NieR raid in the hit MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV, whose free trial, if you didn’t know already, goes up to Heavensward. Horrendously overused joke aside, the alleged upgrade to the original NieR Replicant, now known as NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… can be experienced by people all over the world on the PS4, Xbox One and PC via Steam – 22 April for Asia, 23 April in other ...

It Takes Two has you play Cody and May, husband and wife not on the greatest of terms. Rose, their daughter, has made charming, totally not voodoo dolls of them, and has them get along in her narrative, or so she tries. The real world does call unfortunately for her, when they announce a divorce. Her tears and her wish to see her parents reconcile seems to have given life to the dolls, with Cody and May now forced to navigate a world much larger than them as they bicker their way through chal...

Bravely Default II
4.3

Ever since it was announced, Bravely Default 2 would have definitely been hyped up and looked forward to by many. I will have to preface this by saying that I am completely unfamiliar with the first games, but at least 2 takes place in a new continent with new characters. Unfortunately, this does mean that any references to the previous cast would be lost on me. Well, no point in me rambling about it too much, let’s head into the game.

It’s finally (almost) here: Little Nightmares 2 is on the horizon for the rest of the world, launching on 10 February 2021 for PS4 and Nintendo Switch, and 11 February for Xbox One and PC via Steam. The game will also be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X | S with free upgrades for those who have the last gen editions. We’ve gone through two earlier peeks at this suspense-adventure game, with some restrictions in place to not spoil the game ahead of time. You can check out our run-throug...

Some of you may have already received your copies of Final Fantasy VII Remake, thanks to the decision to deliver copies earlier to help those in areas more badly affected by disruptions from the coronavirus. Due to these circumstances and the fact of this review coming out ahead of its official release date, be aware that there are possible spoilers within this review. A copy of the game was provided for us to provide this review.
