It’s Wrestlemania season. And now, that means another entry in the WWE 2K franchise has come around hungrier than an American Nightmare on his quest to Finish the Story. Firmly settled into a yearly rhythm now, WWE 2K24 continues to focus on refinement rather than revolution. That’s not a bad...
Set in early 20th-century Warsaw, Poland, in a world where esoteric demons and troubled humans unknowingly co-exist, The Thaumaturge is thematically distinct and undeniably intriguing. It’s here, in these delightfully dark surroundings, that a story-driven RPG with stylish turn-based combat exists, with morally ambiguous decisions around every corner. Delivering some...
If you were faced with an impossible choice, how would you respond? If you were allowed to turn back time and bring back the love of your life from the dead, how far would you go to make that happen? Would it be worth sacrificing your beliefs, and everything that...
Alan Wake
In a horror story, there are only victims and monsters. In the topsy-turvy surrealist narrative of Alan Wake 2, it certainly doesn’t seem so black and white. In fact, this horror story lives somewhere in the middle, where heroes and villains are interchangeable and not everything is as it seems.
We all wish we could feel like a superhero. Not in the “everyday hero” way, but in a bona fide super-power, save the world sense. There’s a reason why “If you could have one superpower, what would it be?” is a common icebreaker in the workplace, just like how superhero...
The Fate series has been around for decades, but you’d be forgiven for not diving into its rich lore and back-story up until this point. Fate/Samurai: Remnant serves as a solid way to get involved with the broader Fate universe, offering its best combat mechanics to date, with several RPG...
I always make an earnest effort to not directly compare video games to their counterparts in my reviews, but it’s impossible to talk about The Crew Motorfest without talking about Forza Horizon 5. Put simply, The Crew Motorfest takes direct inspiration from what is widely considered to be the best...
The concept of language is fairly compelling when you think about it. Every culture has one, and there are differences between each; some subtle, some extreme – and that’s before we get into any jargon terms or hyper-local references, ya bloody larrakin. Finding those commonalities between different languages can be...
Atlas Fallen is the latest to enter into a crowded space of “open-world action games with a twist”, coming from developer Deck13 Interactive who you might be familiar with from their sci-fi Souls-like foray, The Surge. Trading hardcore slicing of robots and post-apocalyptic cities for a gigantic fantasy desert setting...
I’ve been a radio presenter for almost ten years, and I never in my wildest dreams thought about a scenario where I, through the airwaves, would be in a position to help civilians with a crazed serial killer roaming the streets, slasher-style, with no police force available to assist me....
It’s been seven years since Street Fighter V was released as part of the enduringly popular Street Fighter series, and while it was initially dinged for lacking in content, it eventually grew into a strong entry built on the foundation of razor-sharp fighting mechanics. Street Fighter 6 looks to course...
Much has been said about The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and its absolutely incredible scope that has kept it in the cultural zeitgeist over six years since its initial release. A monumental jump in a loved franchise, it placed our hero Link in a bold and impressive...
