Turning on Vikings: Wolves of Midgard for the first time, I’ll be transparent in saying I was expecting basically a re-badged Diablo. While in some ways this is a fair comparison, what developer Games Farm has tried to focus on in particular is a crisp combat experience that draws heavily on Nordic mythological themes. To this end, I was not disappointed. The game itself is not without its issues of course, with a fairly weak narrative and some patchy design choices at times. Despite these ...

Battlefield 1
Unscored

This is how the opening campaign continues, piecing together a handful of stories that were never told until you have a clear picture of exactly how bleak World War 1 really was. Battlefield 1 developer DICE has set out to deliver across four key areas which it believes makes Battlefield a unique franchise: All-out War on an epic-scale, Immersion, Strategy and Destruction.

With Overwatch, Blizzard Entertainment adds yet another addictive classic to its collection. Even in the over-saturated genre of online multiplayer shooters, Overwatch emerges clearly at the top of pile. The beauty of this game is in its simplicity: it’s what allows for the game to be fun, competitive, and accessible all at the same time. As long as Blizzard continues to drive newness into this game while maintaining that simplicity, it’s not hard to imagine that this game will be highly ...
