James Bond has had a long life in gaming, but age seems to be catching up with him.
Bond is back! Activision has released 007 Legends to the masses. This latest game to bear the 007 insignia is based on five “classic” Bond films from the 50-year history of Bond movies. Having enjoyed previous Bond games such as Quantum of Solace, Blood Stone, and last year’s GoldenEye: Reloaded, I was intrigued when Activision announced that the latest Bond game would be a ‘collection’ of sorts. Well, I have had a chance to play 007 Legends, and while there are periods when the game is good, it just doesn’t do enough this time around and I ran into a few issues that took away from the over...
With the new James Bond film Skyfall out next month, you might expect this year's 007 game to be all about the present — instead, Eurocom digs into the franchise's rich legacy, updating some of Bond's more memorable moments for the modern era. With the successful reimagining of GoldenEye, Eurocom proved that they know their way around a Bond movie or two. But can they manage six of them at once in 007 Legends?
It must have all been a dream. As we all slept, maybe fitfully as a result of that last crushing defeat on FIFA, someone re-launched Bond, made him into a more brooding, more real, version of his old self. Maybe they called the film Casino Royale, you know like that original camp one, and they followed it up with a couple of equally cool sequels that did equally well. Only it can’t have happened because, if it did, then we surely would be inclined to expect a damn sight more from a Bond gam...
The graphics just look like total ass and it doesn’t seem like it’s any better looking than Goldeneye 007. You’d think a company working under Activision and aping on the Call of Duty titles would be allowed to borrow the IW Engine to pretty up their game. The voice acting is also pretty half assed since the Daniel Craig impersonator seems to only know how to do a serious Craig voice and all the other characters just have their lines ripped straight from the films besides the few people they needed to replace.
