2064: Read Only Memories in a lot of ways is something of a balancing act. Whereas particular genre elements and features make a point of setting it in the past, its outlook and perspective on character, location, and story firmly place it as one of the best point and click adventure games of late. Providing you don’t go in expecting too much of a head-itching challenge, 2064: Read Only Memories is the adventure game apologist story fans (and possibly Bladerunner fans) have been waiting for. Now available on PS4 and freely updated with new content on PC, this pixel perfect romp shouldn’t be mi...
2064: Read Only Memories is an inclusive and heartfelt experience that provides an engaging mystery and valuable social commentary.
I enjoyed a lot of what 2064: Read Only Memories had to offer. Gameplay is focused on dialogue and puzzles, and while the latter can be a toss-up between frustrating and satisfying, the former outshines it in both quantity and quality. If not for the relationship between yourself and Turing, as well as the backstories, interactions, and performances of the secondary characters, there wouldn’t be much to keep one engaged. Thankfully all of that is present and make Neo-San Francisco and the stories it holds worth playing through to the very end.

2064: Read Only Memories is a fantastic update to the original game that tells a noteworthy story with some great characters supported by mostly good voice acting. There are just a few sour spots that drag down the game and stop it from connecting like it should.

We're all human, and if there is to be equality, then we all have to be able to share the same rights. 2064: Read Only Memories doesn't deal in consequence or compromise, just your side is right, and their side is wrong. I will say the visual style is engaging, and it would have been nice to see the screen space open up a bit and let that aesthetic shine. However, I will say it's worth a playthrough for fans of the genre and cyberpunk enthusiasts if only for the nostalgia and artwork.
2064: Read Only Memories is a title that will appeal to a niche corner of the gaming public, with its focus on a murder mystery wrapped in discussion of social issues. It’s also feels like quite a passive experience compared to other games that are in the same genre. There’s interactivity with objects and solving puzzles, but being dialogue heavy may put some off. The story of 2064: Read Only Memories is decent however as is the voicework, and there is replayability through making different choices. 2064: Read Only Memories may be much more appealing to those who are fans of visual novels, and...
