Adventures of Pip's unique mechanic makes it stand out from the rest of the platformers I've played; the game makes wonderful use of the mechanic. Challenging enough to not make it a memory platformer but also not dull, this game is sure to charm any fans of the genre.
Overall, Adventures of Pip makes the biggest mistake a game can make: being boring. While the game had a lot of potential, it is brought down by being unmemorable. A great soundtrack cannot justify bland level design, a restrictive bit-switching gimmick, and a lacklustre story. There are far more imaginative and innovative platformers on Switch that deserve a look over this.
The underrated Wii U game Adventures of Pip has finally arrived on the Nintendo Switch. If you missed the boat the first time, don't miss it again. It's a great
Adventures of Pip is a joyful experience that translated well to the Nintendo Switch. Everything runs smoothly and the game itself is an absolute blast to play. The level design was clever, as well as the general premise and game mechanics.
Adventures of Pip is a solid platformer with a clever premise. Those two aspects combine to make a game that is deceptively simple, charming and memorable.
The main idea behind Adventures of Pip is one that truly does keep on providing. By necessity, the level design needed to be as clever as it is so that the evolution mechanic didn't become dull very quickly. The team at Tic Toc Games have done a great job here for sure, but we just wish that there was either more volume to it in general, or more of a challenge to what is provided. It's definitely an enjoyable enough way to while away a couple of hours.
It's another pixel platformer that's solid in nature and has something to offer, but does misstep along the way.
Adventures of Pip is a charming game with a lovely soundtrack by Jake “virt” Kaufman and interesting mechanics allowing you to increase or decrease Pip’s pixel count. With a few minor annoyances, the gameplay is fun while also offering a difficulty that I would consider just right. It starts off easy, and gets harder as you get more comfortable with the various forms that Pip can have. The writing is also quite fun in this game as it tells a story without taking itself to seriously whic...
Adventures of Pip is an inoffensive platformer that doesn’t do a whole lot wrong, but it won’t stand out in your mind a few days after beating it. While it does last though, it’ll bring a smile to your face.
