I reviewed this title on the PlayStation 4 Pro, and I have had a few crashes and even a couple complete lockups. Oddly enough, my teammate with the standard PlayStation 4 hasn't had this issue. Server lag can be a real thing, and when you finish a game, you are sometimes stuck in an infinite load loop.

The alarm has sounded, the light has changed from red to green and you are standing on the drop ramp. Your squad gets the “jump!” command and you go all out with rocket boosters forcing you to the ground more quickly than a freefall. You touch down on the landing platform and begin to scour for weapons, all the while enemy squads are doing the same. This is our review for Apex Legends.

Ultimately, I’m excited to see Respawn’s plans for the future. Although Apex Legends is fairly light on content at the moment, after having played it for over a week now, it’s become my new favorite battle royale game. Matches are quick enough that I never feel burned by a sudden loss and jumping back in with a different legend makes it more addictive than any battle royale I’ve played so far.

Apex Legends is a fun entry into the battle royale genre. Besides suffering from some issues in map design, it brings enough new ideas to the table to warrant a look.

Apex Legends continues to be a superb battle royale game, but you do not want to play it on Switch unless that's your only option.
