Blades of Time Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
Blades of Time certainly is an innovating title, but marred in its own design flaws. There’s no one way about this title. Some players will love it for what it does, because it certainly tries really hard to be one of the most singular and versatile action titles in years. Others will get stuck on the flaws that make this game one of the most needlessly annoying endeavors ever to obscure a good concept. If anything, anyone should at least try it and find out which side the coin falls for them.
Blades of Time is a action title boasting a sword-wielding treasure hunter named Ayumi, fighting for survival within a hostile fantasy realm. The game is set in the world of Dragonland, legendary for its treasure, where a demonic being has taken control and is wreaking havoc.
The game was moderately enjoyable though it felt very much like every other title that Blades of Time obviously gained inspiration from. The gameplay was familiar but a bit lackluster as it got old fast. The decision to split ranged and melee left the game a bit disconnected, dare I say disengaging. The improvement’s that where made still fall under the shadows of itself.

Outbreak is sort of a fun mode, but it does get old quickly, and everything surrounding it is unexplained or prone t…
In the end Blades of Time is an underwhelming and unpolished experience with frustrating game mechanics that aren't nearly as interesting as the idea behind them. It's hard to recommend this game to anyone, especially given the far superior titles on the market that inspired Blades of Time and its rewind/clone concept.
